I am happy to be revealing this stair runner and a few other fun pieces to you today. I have been wanting a stair runner for our main level stairs for quite some time now. It need to be durable, pretty and soft underfoot and I could not be happier with this one I selected! I teamed up with Annie Selke to make some fun changes and add some of there gorgeous pieces around the home.
So let’s take a walk down memory lane shall we? This is what the stairs looked like right after I painted the risers white and the side trim white. It was a big job but I am so happy with how it brightened up the whole stairwell. This runner is the Herringbone Pearl Grey and White Stair runner by Dash & Albert and I am obsessed with how it looks! Its got a great tight weave that is scrubbable which we all know is so important when you have kids!
I love that it’s cozy underfoot and makes our stairs much more comfortable to walk on. I used just a simple non-slip rug pad cut to size on each tread to help hold the rug I place and it worked perfect. I love how this soft grey and white really brightens up the whole staircase. The wood was quite dark before and with minimal light coming into that area, the light risers and runner really make a huge difference.

This Marlo rug in our dining space is such an amazing stain proof piece and I love a good stripe! It’s a pretty neutral base which is great to mix with all colour tones and it’s also an indoor outdoor rug! I plan on moving this out to the deck come the warmer weather as I think it is going to be the most perfect rug for that space! Finding products that work well when you have a family and busy little ones is essential and investing in a rug like this gives you the longevity as well as the ability to hose it off and scrub it clean when any mud or dirt gets on it. Which let’s be honest if you have kids there will be a mess!
Another item from Annie Selke that I am obsessed with is these two oversized baskets! They are so sturdy and the perfect catch all piece our function amazing as a laundry hamper. I love finding items that look great but are extremely functional and this basket set is a win in that department. The large weave brings so much texture and they are perfect mimd tone brown with a touch of grey.
I tell ya, it always amazes me what switching up rugs can do to a space and I couldn’t be happier with our new stair runner set up. It’s been installed for a couple of months almost now so I can fully confirm that this fabric is totally boy proof!
