Well hello again friends and One Room Challenge lovers! If you haven’t checked out last weeks space showing you all the before pictures then click here! I am super excited to be sharing the design board for the powder room with you all today and let me first start off my addressing the obvious, BAM- there is colour!! Like guys I can hardly believe myself but I just fell in love with these watercolored Tangerines in Greens wall decals from Urban Walls! They are so pretty and whimsical and where the powder room is on the back half of the house in the same vicinity as the dining and kitchen area I thought this print would be a really fun ‘pop’ in the space.
Also let’s just say that the fact that I am doing a room that we don’t spend a ton of time in really helped me to push myself and do something a little different. So to start off there is absolutely no storage in our powder room because we have an open pedestal sink so a shelving unit is a definite must. I love the idea of this leaning ladder shelf to give me space to store extra hand towels, soap etc and also help balance out the room where the other side has the sink, mirror, light and toilet.
I want to keep the rest of the space fairly neutral so the wall treatment can really be the main focus, I am really loving the idea of an oversized picture in there so we shall see how that looks. I also can’t wait to do the half wall board and batten which is really going to brighten things up and bring some great depth and detail into the space.
TO DO:
- Paint walls
- Install board and batten
- Install light
- Wall treatment
- New Mirror
- Get Shelving unit
- Art
- Rug
- Accessorize
I can’t wait to share next weeks updates and be sure you check out the other participants here!
Kind thoughts,
Lauren Elizabeth
