Well I have to say, after taking a week off from blogging for a much needed break I am feeling motivated and inspired and I have some fun posts coming up for all of you lovely blog readers! Today I wanted to talk about creating layers on your bed for the warmer months where you don’t need quite as much bedding when you sleep.
We have always used a feather duvet which we love and is so cozy but once June hits it definitely feels like too much weight on the bed for a comfortable nights sleep. So once those warmer nights start I like to switch out some of the fabrics on the bed for more light breathable materials. I am a big fan of bamboo sheets and how soft and thin they are for sleeping. They are cooling and help keep you comfortable all night. My mom bought us these white bamboo sheets as a gift and they have been heaven! However make sure you wash in cold water and dry with low heat because they definitely shrink!
I am so in love with this beautiful blue quilt from Garnet Hill. If you read my spring bedroom tour post you will know I am loving blue right now and how serene it feels. This quilt is nice and light which makes it a great layering piece yet it has enough weight to be warm in the night. The mix of blues and whites are so pretty and the circle motif is such a lovely touch and makes it feel more modern. It’s funny because I usually don’t find myself drawn to quilts but as soon as I saw this I fell in love with the print. Something else I have been enjoying is making our bed really simply on a day to day basis. There is something so fresh about minimal pillows and simple tucked bedding. I just love how pretty the tassel Pepper B Designpillow looks there solo front and centre.
Best,
Lauren Elizabeth
