Well it’s the start to another week. My husband is back to work today after vacation and it was such a busy couple weeks! Our eldest son turned 4 so naturally we had a birthday party for him, he is obsessed with Thomas the train (and has been for a long time) so it was no surprise
when I asked him what kind of birthday party he wanted he said “a Thomas one.”
So I got my creative juices flowing and knew that I wanted to create some party decor that he would really love. My idea was to kind of create a space that felt like he was on the island of Sodor which is the make belief island where Thomas “lives” haha oh my gosh this sounds so funny written out, bare with me here. So I went for a soft blue colour palette and hung fun flags and lots of clouds made out of bristol board along with white balloons. I also picked up some little pictures of Thomas that we hung from the ceiling amongst the other decorations. We had cute little snacks out and kept the tablescape pretty simple with treats and a small Thomas train track set up in the corner around the cupcakes. To say he loved it would be an understatement!
I was so happy with how it all came together and the best part was seeing his sweet little face the morning he came downstairs and saw all the decorations up, I think the clouds where his favourite part! It’s so hard to believe he is 4 now and it just seems like the time is flying by, I feel like when you have little ones you really see how fast time goes because they are growing and changing so much everyday. I hope you all enjoyed this post of my not so little mans birthday and have a lovely Monday!
Kind thoughts,
Lauren Elizabeth
